Love & Light

Question:

Is there any way to use our eye-movements in order to store information better?

Gary:

Yes there is. What you would do is you would go up into individual recall and you would spell the word or the information, if it is a word, spell it forward-backward, forward-backward, about 7 times, then go down into kinesthetic and then feel what it feels like having it spelled right, than feel it, go back up and spell it again, feel it and then lock it into place in visual recall. That is one way to do it. It is a lot of work but it just depends on your commitment. But be sure to go down to kinesthetic to make sure how it feels like to spell it right. I do this with names sometimes.

Question:

What is the difference between meditating and go into self-hypnosis?

Gary:

They are both altered states, I think they are both synonymous, quite frankly. Meditation of course is the only used in a mantra-form and is more devotional in nature. At least the meditations that I have done. It depends on what type of meditation. I always was involved in Bhakti-Yoga, which is devotional kind of Yoga where you are in a mantra repeating the names of God out of love for God, rather then there are some meditations that are simply based on disciplining the mind. So it depends on what the meditational intend is. There is people who meditate and work with the dark side. There is lost of different ways to focus the mind. But I think that devotional meditation is probably the most rewarding. And Hypnosis is simply an altered state where the conscious mind is still. What you do with it after that is kind of up to you. The difference is the intent. Both still the mind but then what do you do once the mind is still. Do you pray for power or do you pray for God? I went out on vision quest with Marilyn and there was just me and this Indian guy out on the mountain, we were the last once out. Marilyn was leaving and we were out that long because we required greater purification. And I remember him before he went out he said “I am going to pray to the thunder beings, the lightning” and I said “for what?” he said “for power”. Well his prayers were strong. And the last night we were out a lightning storm came up and it was the worst Marilyn said she had ever seen in all the years she had been out in Colorado. Lightning was hitting the ground once every 10 feet. It was really, really bad. And I was out there, I was meditating, had my pipe and every now and again lightning would hit really close to me. She came out and got us, she got us early. She pulled us into the debriefing room and said:”OK, which one of you were praying for power? One of you is praying for power! I want to know who it was because one of you is praying to the lightning beings and is praying for power! You go and meditate!” So I was glad, it was not me!

So we go to the lots the next morning and he breaks down and he says he was praying for power. And Marilyn asks him: ‘why would you pray for power?’ What would power ever give you? What does that pre-suppose when someone desires power? They feel powerless and they are afraid and they feel less. Remember the presuppositions of language? That the presupposition of existence is that if something exists the opposite must be true. So when we look at people’s behavior and we see them acting in this way that you say, “oh my God, why do they do that?” You have to go to the presupposition of existence. There is some people show up and they assume a lot of power. They walk into that room and they wheel their psychic abilities in a way that is sometimes intimidating and not useful. The Master uses to say: Those who know never say and those who say don’t know.

But I will say that power is a seductive thing and a lot of people that go on the spiritual path get lost in the valley of power because they finally realize based upon – they will call them Siddhis and Rishis – some different minor psychic abilities that can begin to be developed, that they can have influence over other people and can make things happen that they couldn’t before. And as a consequence they begin to lust for power and it is only because they have lived in powerlessness. So the greatest experience of strength is just the flip-side of their deepest weakness. And if you choose to empower the illusion of power within them they grow stronger and if you choose to see the foundation of weakness under the quest for power they have no influence over you. Does that make sense? It is really really important that people learn how to work with those who are misusing power because there are a lot of people misusing power. I personally believe that there is a different type of energy flowing onto the world right now, like there is more available to us and you are able to wake up faster and use these abilities in a deeper degree without enough purification. And certain people are way off on the wrong track. Let’s cancel ‘wrong’. It is not the wrong track, it’s the track that is not going to lead to the ultimate outcome. So we just have to learn how to navigate our way through those particular hallucinations.

Question:

What is your take on the divisions between religions?

Gary:

I will ask you, what does your soul feel about that?

Answer:

I think that there is just one God.

Gary:

I agree. I think God just looks down on us and just says ‘Yes’! ‘yes’ and ‘yes’! Whatever metaphor you choose to encapsulate your culture that will define the unspeakable to your conscious mind and your ego, it’s a big ‘yes’, you go for it!

You want to make a connection between me and you?- great! You want to have physical body that you can worship? Great! You want to have a personality because that is how our egos are so separated that you cannot even conceive of me? So you have to conceive of me through a personality that you can identify with? Great! So it is Allah, it is Mohammed for some people; it is Christ for others. It is like, great. This power just says ‘yes’ to whatever it is that we choose to create as a metaphor to create a pathway and understand between the vast levels of separation of our ego to the unspeakable concept of God. And this power called God just says ‘yes’ to whatever it is.

A lot of people might be really offended by what I just said but I think for my worldview  that is pretty much true (…), otherwise whatever the thing called God is that would pick one religion and slaughter everybody else if you don’t believe it: I wouldn’t want to belong to that God! That would not be a God I would hang out with. So, since it is all made up anyway, I think I want to make up a better God. Don’t you think? Because, none of it makes any sense at all. I just doesn’t, there is absolutely no sense. Religion makes no sense. I completely respect every single religion’s traditions and metaphors and ceremonies because that is what evokes and awakens the devotion. But see, it is all about how we awaken the devotion in the human heart. And there is all the different systems to awaken the devotion, but people get lost in worshipping the systems, rather than the devotion which is the end product of the systems and I think that is where we get really really derailed or our cultures have gotten really derailed. They got lost in the fact of the system or the ceremony or the metaphor and they began worshipping that instead of the devotion that was supposed to be the end product of all the ceremony. They worshipped the map, they worshipped the idol and this is what Christ said: be aware of false prophets, do not idol worship. What have they done? They have turned this personality called Jesus into an idol. They have taken Allah and turned into an ideal. They have the cross they turned that into an idol; they are all idol worshippers.

Buddha everything, all of it. The Buddhist are a little bit different. But it is wild, they are doing the exact opposite of the teachings and they will go to the death they will create genocide over their ceremonies. And it is tragedy. Why do you think the ‘course in miracles’ was channeled and written? There was this little Jewish atheists woman who started getting this voice in her head, she thought she was absolutely insane; she was this PhD psychiatrist, went to her best friend in the same hospital and went” I am going insane”, his name was Bill Theford(?) and started explaining to him what was happening to her and he said: “write it!, just write down everything”. Two years later and two volumes that thick became the course in miracles and it was Christ saying ‘ I am so deeply disturbed by how my teachings have been so distorted I have come to clarify the meaning of what I meant to say through my teachings. He explains the crucifixion unlike anything you have ever heard before, he explains all the core events that happened that are the metaphors of the Christian faith worships and he explains it quite differently. I taught it for 8 years, it is powerful. I would highly recommend it, especially if the Christian faith appeals to you, I would read the course. It won’t make any sense at first, it is meant to unravel your mind and it does that, and you will read one paragraph and you will go ‘oh my God, oh my God…what does that mean’ and will think about it for weeks. It is written in a way to unravel the ego. It is very very powerful stuff.

Bill Theford (?) used to come and sit in the back of a course in miracles class I used to teach. He would sit in the back in silence, and I refused to teach it. What I would do is, I would open up one of the prayer and I would say ‘everyone within the room is equally Christ and knowledgeable, so everybody gets to read at least a paragraph from the book.’ And then everyone would pass the book around, everyone would read a paragraph and if anyone had a question I would do my best to answer it. That is how I taught it, Bill loved that. He really disliked Mary-Anne(?) He really did. He thought she was the worst thing that ever happened to ‘the course of miracles’. I cannot say that: He didn’t say that to me specifically but he was not really happy with the way it was being taught! Because it was coming through another mind. It was not an individual teaching being individually laid on individual minds to be able to interpret for themselves. Some person became a spokesperson and that was what he didn’t like. Do you know how he died? It was really beautiful; because I knew the person he was with when he died? He was a mentor of mine, he was a fabulous man. He was up in the mountains staying in a cabin with about two other people and all of the sudden he started dancing in the cabin. He just started singing ‘ I am so free, I am so free’ He just danced, he danced out of the cabin and out into the woods, jelling and screaming ‘ I am so free’ and dropped it.

He was in his sixties when he died, isn’t that beautiful? I am like” That’s how I am going to die!!” That is a powerful way to go and I am thinking: Why couldn’t all of us leave like that? Wouldn’t that be the greatest testimony to a life well lived? Because otherwise, we are going to be hanging out at our death-bed thinking about our kids that generally are just worrying about the dollars you are going to leave them and you will be hanging out like you are worrying about your puppy or your house and who is going to get the money and the inheritance and how they are going to fight over it….who cares? All the accumulation of all the things we think are valuable and all we really want to do is being in absolute ecstatic love and dance out of our bodies, leaving this place with complete surrender of the great unknown because we stepped into it so many times in the past. Wouldn’t’ t that be the greatest way to go? Just let’s get up and dance, and dance out of our bodies. I am modeling excellence. I want to dance out of my body.

Question:

Would you add something or modify the 10 commandments?

Gary:

Yes, I would modify the 10 commandments. I would say: be responsible for your creation, love what you have created, know you created it, forgive yourself and know at one level, that life is leading you beautifully in the direction of you becoming once again one with that ecstatic love that is animating all of life.

Comment:

Sometimes, I think if we didn’t have any religions and we just followed the 10 commandments it would be all we needed.

Gary:

I would say that religion serves an incredible purpose for people who are seeking for a structure in which to worship the unknown. Unfortunately, it becomes a weapon of separation. And so rather than creating unification it creates separation. I would say that there are people involved in religion that are doing wonderful work and it is not that they are not, they are and they are operating out of the best level they know at their particular state of evolution that is going to be the thing that is going to give them the greatest value. So if it existed there is nothing condemnable about it. It is serving some level of consciousness, and so who are we to say that ought not to exist. If it exists it is part of the plan. Whether I participate in it or not is another question. But if it exists it is a holly thing, I mean where would a souls incarnate to that really have to learn about war? Iraq and Palestine. Who are we to say that that ought no to exist. I don not know enough to know that. From my ego’s prospective I would like no human being to suffer. From my soul’s prospective how do I know that the greatest suffering won’t bring the greatest evolution of spirit? And why do I deny some of that? I don’t know enough to know that. So I can only say that if it exists than I believe that this great thing called life has a purpose for that existing and the purpose is to beautifully evolve whatever souls are participating and whatever it is in a way that most serves their learning and their waking up. And that is a big chunk and that doesn’t mean that you don’t do things to help ease suffering you do. But this is not a place where suffering will ever stop; I don’t believe that the earth or the physical realm is a place where suffering is neutralized. I think this is where we come to do this. I would like to think it was different. I just have never seen any evidence of it. So the best thing we can do is create little heavens within ourselves and do the greatest work that we can do around us and the people that are within the shadow of our influence.

Question:

What do you think about the ‘conversations with God’ book?

Gary:

I am unfamiliar with the book, I have people come up to me and say ‘ah conversations with God, you must have read that’ and I am like ‘ No, I don’t know I haven’t read it.’.

So, no, I am not familiar with his work.

Comment:

He just had a huge convention; there were a couple of thousand people and many many from Australia.

Gary:

Australia is very very hungry, I guess that is one of the reasons why I am going.

If I were to say if there was a purpose for life, it would be: To learn how to love, I mean divinely love, with no judgment, even beyond unconditional, just no judgment in the ultimate form of separation, our bodies and our egos. If we could learn how to stop judging and have love I think then we would know that there is no difference between here and there, between earth and a physical body and heaven. That is what I believe enlightenment is, is that when we walk in the ultimate form of separation a body and absolutely see no separation., then we are awake. And I think that that is totally possible.

Question:

Have you achieved that?

Gary:

Me? Oh no!

Not even close, but I know that that is it. And I get glimpses. When I look outside myself and I just see absolute perfection. It doesn’t happen often but it does happen. And I know as age and I grow that it is going to happen more often. And when we talk like this and when we are around like this, we even have a concept of this, this is what supports that to grow. One more question, because it feels like we are winding down.

Comment: (Heike)

It was very interesting regarding ‘conversations with God’ that (…) he uses all the common NLP-terms and phrases.

Gary:

Yes, I don’t know.

I know, Heike, I know that she went to a psychic channeler and the psychic channeler was doing all this NLP Timeline stuff on her. And said: ” oh, these were gifts that were channeled to me through ,what was the deity’s name?, Akakabaka? And it was done through me… And Heike, off course told me and said: ‘all this stuff was so NLP’ and I asked her: ‘what was the person’s name?’ she gave me his name and is said: ‘that was one of my students!’ and she calls her stuff ‘tools of the spirit’! And she took that from my work which was ‘tools for life’. It is like, she took all of my stuff and morphed it into an entity. That is why you have to be a little cautious when you are out there.

Question:

I want to ask you about those 4 questions: what is the outcome of the 4 questions.

Gary:

For me the outcome of those 4 questions which is Byron Katie’s which are: is it true? Can I know it is true?  What is it costing me and who am I without it?

It is basically forcing you to look at your model of the world, basically your hallucination. And then know that you cannot possibly know enough information to know that it is true. Look at what it is costing you, which is of course separation and not unification, if you are judging than you know that you are out of love. And who are you without it, without the judgment? You are absolute ecstatic love.

Question:

Costing me means what do I have to give up to have it?

Gary:

Or what are you experiencing as a consequence of your constant judgment? And that is a cost. And the cost is separation. Whenever we judge anything we judge anything we have to have fear. Because, in that fear in our judgment we will be judged against, because all what we are doing is: we are projecting what we would be or do in that person’s behavior. When we look at the person’s behavior we are like ‘ok, that person must be thinking that or that…’ how would we know that? We would only know that? We would only that by placing ourselves in that person’s position that we can say ‘ok, that would be what I would be feeling, so therefore that is what they are feeling.’ So, who is really the judgment of? It is not of them, it is of you. As a consequence all judgment is self-condemnation. It is true! It is just self-condemnations. You keep winding yourself deeper into this place where the condemnation of yourself becomes huge and really judgmental people are filled with self-hatred.

Question:

How does that play out with someone like me? Like, when I am in my car etc?

Gary:

You never know what motivates a person. If you run from the presupposition that there is always a positive intention behind every behavior the person may feel powerless and the only place they feel like they have power is behind a wheel. Women have always done this to me personally. Very aggressive drivers, they do like really rude things and I am like ‘bloody hell, why did you do that?’ and I am thinking to myself ‘they probably felt powerless with some male entity, person and this is where they can have power. Not that this is a big old generalization on my part, but it is a good hallucination and it makes me feel better.  There is lots of different ways you can look at why people do what they do. It depends on whether you are willing to operate here or here.

The truth of all is either you are going to choose to be peaceful or you are going to make yourself right.

I have this thought that if we judge something we must have the opportunity to experience it to neutralize what we put into action. So if you judge something, my idea is, and I really think it is true that we get to experience it. I mean if you judge it and condemn it, than you have to experience it and all that you are saying is: God you screwed up and according to my model of the world you are not right here. And so, if you are condemning God and its; expression in that particular form then you are condemning the creation. And if you are judging anything then you are separate from the creation and in order for you to be whole you must experience the allowance of it, because that is God being made manifest in simply another manifestation. How can you become unified with God if you cannot be unified with all that has been created? And this is why judgment separates us and creates the requirement for us to experience it so that we can unify and love all that was God is. Judge nothing. Allow everything, and then you unify with everything and then you will be able to dance out of your body. Do you think that your judgment and your condemnations are going to leave you at the time of death? They do not. Consciousness is consciousness and just because your body ages it does not mean that your anger dwindles. One day Robert and I saw this car, and there was this little old lady, she has to be 3 feet tall, and we are like 3 or 4 cars behind her. And suddenly we hear all that screaming and we are looking at her and she is cursing and jelling and her arms are flying out of the sides of her car and she is holding on to her horn because the guy in front of her, who has a red light, isn’t moving. We drive by and she is like out of control in her car. She has to be 85. Filled with rage. This lady, rapped into rage at her age over traffic. What possibilities does she have to really dance out of her body and have a successful life? She doesn’t, does she? It doesn’t diminish with age; it diminishes with choice to change, that is it what it diminishes from. And I will tell you, now is the only moment of power we have to become different, otherwise it will be next week, it will be next month it will be next year, and before you know you will be 90 years old lying in our death-bed in rage that we didn’t do what we knew we could do and didn’t take the time and the effort to be tenacious enough with our consciousness to shift from the temple of what we judge so harshly and condemn so harshly about the world to the temple of ‘I have got complete allowance for the perfection of how each circumstances evolving each soul that is here. And if we don’t shift in the moment and if we don’t practice shifting, we will never condition well enough to be able to do it naturally at the time of death. Because when we die it will be like a movie running through our minds, the picture sounds and feelings of everything we have been attached to will flow before us just like a movie; it is automatic and whatever we are most attached to the last frame will determine our next incarnation. Choose wisely! Choose very, very wisely!

Love & Light

Love & Light

Question:

Is there one reality, is there one God or is there just multitudes of internal representations of whatever that life-force is?

Gary:

I would say, at this level of consciousness that there is multiple levels of interpretations, because we are in the ultimate form of separation in the human body, and in this, the way that we perceive through the density of our bodies through the density our minds, and especially our egos we can only see through the filters of what we have made up about the outside world individually. So, yes we will describe individually a different meaning and a different interpretation to the thing called god because we are attempting to understand it. And we can only understand it through the filters of our individual collective experience. At another realm of existence there is only one God. There is just one energy that is emanating out throughout creation and animating all things. So, I would say to you: Yes and Yes! At one level of existence there is only one God; at our level of existence, there are a myriad of Gods according to how we have separated ourselves of and created our own individual creations to be what they are.

Remember that story I told about my time in India? Where the Master was giving Dorchen (?)

And I was sitting in the audience and the Master’s eyes walked onto mine; I lost consciousness of my body. It was like in an instant, even less than an instant, I was in this milky way of lights. And all that was in existence was love contemplating itself, individuated but yet, the same.

And it is very difficult to describe but it was this feeling of: I am not different than this glowing orb in the middle of this galaxy of lights but I have individuation. But, what makes it the same is the intense love that is being contemplated. It is almost like love contemplating itself. And at that level of existence there is nothing but just love contemplating itself. Now, I remember the Master used to be asked: Why did creation begin? And as I think back, it was maybe a minute, maybe not even that, maybe just a second that I was in that state, and I remember in that state, I said: Oh my God, I am with God! And I also remember that the intensity of love was so intense, I had the thought: “If that is what I experienced all the time, I would be bored.”

I remember having the thought, and as soon as I had the thought I was back down in my body and my eyes opened and the Master was moving on to someone else. And I thought, ha, so that is how creation began. We got bored with the love. And we took a little trip!

And we said to ourselves: We would like to experience more. And so each of us splintered off to experience more. And do you remember one of the Star Track movies, one of the first ones? Voyager? That little satellite that got sent off into space and came back as this monolithic all-powerful conglomerate of every learning it had ever had seeking? Its’ God, its’ creator? I kind of think that is how we are.

We have gone of seeking, now we are seeking back to that love, that we miss so much. Most of us just want to go home. Like, we just want to go home.

And it is now up to us, those of us who are really having that longing to seek for the way to achieve that and find that realm of oneness once again. Because, quite frankly, it is not a whole hack of a lot of fun here, after you have done the sex, you have done the drugs and you have done the money, you have done all of that. It is just not a whole hack of a lot of fun!

Comment:

You can repeat this!

Gary:

You can repeat this for eternity and there is no judgment! That is just what your soul is choosing to do. My soul is choosing: Get the hell out of here!

Question:

If we get back there, are we going to get bored again?

Gary:

I certainly hope not!

From the prospective: If we have already experienced all of this, then, we kind of know what there is creation has to offer. There is no doubt that there is pleasures here, right?

Question:

Do you think that we will remember?

Gary:

I don’t know. I think, once we leave here, we will definitely be in that place of waking up from the dream. You know, when we wake up from a dream, the dream evaporates out of our consciousness and it just fades into nothingness. I think, that is how our memories of our existence, our egos, our identities will be. We get to think of the fact that in Quantum physics they have proven that there are eleven different dimensions to reality. Which means that there is vast possibilities for existence of consciousness. Vast! And you hear about people who contact the relatives on the other side. And the relatives are speaking to them and the relatives are very attached and everybody is saying: Oh G, my relatives are in heaven!

In my prospective, there is many, many different levels of existence and depending on what your attachments are that is where you go. So, when people tap into, let’s say ‘the other side’ and are talking to the relatives, I am saying: God, that’s a pity! The relatives are in some sort of lower astral heaven, hanging out, still totally attached to what is down here, so how far did they really progress? So, in a way, that’s not really heaven, is it? If that realm of existence is still attached to what is happing here then there is a possibility that the attachments to people, family, friends is not really what I would call heaven! It is just another level of existence outside of the realm of the 3-dimensional body. But it is not heaven.

Comment:

If they stay there, to support us here, that is a very high level of love, isn’t it?

Gary:

It can be. I mean, if you think for a moment of what brings families together? What if we have been traveling with the same set of souls for eternity? What if? Why do you think we were incarnated to the very specific family units we were incarnated into? If we did not have vast historical karmic bonds to these people?

So, it is really important that we heal the family dynamics in this lifetime, because we just will travel with them for eternity until we do. I think that there is some sort of core bond with individuals that we have incarnated through. Why out of all the billions of genealogical combinations you could be incarnated in through you came through your mother and your father? Who chose that? If we actually chose that I believe that we chose that for some sort of spiritual evolutionary purpose. It is not, that our bodies and egos do not suffer, they absolutely do. But if we are choosing that and we have chosen it for our own spiritual wake-up-call then somewhere in the metaphor of the family dynamics, there is a huge spiritual lesson. For what our soul is attempting to teach itself, for whatever experiences we think we are lacking. So then our family becomes this doorway, this gateway into enlightenment, as do our relationships with the men and the women that we have come in contact with. You know those ones, this principle male and female figures that have floated into our lives and often times floated out again, that they hold some significant value. Significant! I have talked to you guys before about that nine-year-relationship I was in, where it was just torturous and I was in some much pain about it? And I would say, out of that, I got to face my really deepest shadow-sides. All my incongruencies, that I couldn’t tell the truth, I could not keep my word: It was just awful! I got to just look at all of that about myself. And come out of that experience, going: OK, I only will commit to what I know I can keep my word to. My truth is more important than anything, my integrity is more important than anything, because I have got to experience the other side of that: Having no integrity and living outside of my own truth. It was so painful I could hardly stay in my own skin. So, unless I would have had this type of experience I doubt if I would value my word as much as I do. Because, I know the pain of the other path, widely taken. We definitely suffer and we definitely act badly at times, aren’t we? What are we teaching ourselves from the reaction that we get from the world based upon our particular atrophied aspects being expressed? We get to feel the pain of it, don’t we? What is that teaching us? And when the pain gets really big, we generally stop doing what we do. I wish we could learn outside the realm of pain but I have yet to notice that I do. I don’t know about the rest of you but I haven’t noticed that I don’t… like I would really get happy: Oh, G, that is so great, I think I will do that all the time. Because generally only when I am in mortal pain then I stop doing what I am doing and I will do something else. Anyone else noticed that about themselves?

Question:

I was thinking about reality and perception, and it looks like that there is no reality; it is only perception, for example this chair. Is it a chair? Is it a piece of wood, or if you move closer just molecules?

Gary:

It is all-subjective. Reality really does not exist at this realm. It just does not.

Question:

What is real?

Gary:

We can agree upon it. This is why NeuroLinguisticProgramming becomes so important because it gives us the tools to learn how to navigate our way through the hallucinations in a world that is based on subjective experience. Because, every one of us is hallucinating. And unless we have profound tools to teach us how we have constructed our reality and how other people construct reality we do not know how to navigate our way through this. What causes the bulk of the pain for most human beings is that there is no connection here. There is no connection here.

Question:

Are we really in relationship with one another or are we in relationship with our hallucination of the other person?

Gary:

That’s big, and I will say, if I was to make up something about that, that this is exactly right. That we are in relationship with our hallucination of the other person and at another level there is often times in core principle relationships, there is history there. There is like lifetimes of history with a person. And that there can be at times a deeper level that is an operation that has to do with the soul, like two souls recognize each other. And even then though at this level of how we function here in the density of matter, because sometimes I feel like I am in a deep-sea diving suit. You are looking out at the strange world through a series of masks. My ego that has made up whatever it has made up about life and love and right and wrong and love, whatever love can be here, is what I have to operate through to make a connection with another person. So, I have to operate through all this outer ware to be able to connect with someone’s soul. And there are moments where we can. There is moments when you can look into another person’s eyes and you see them. Through all the different layers of defenses that each person has around love. So I will say, no we are not in a relationship with one another we are in relationship of what we have made up, our hallucination, but I will also say that there is moments when this hallucination falls apart and you are able to see into the other person. I have not experienced that often, but there is periods of time especially in my current relationship I can say the first time I can experience glimpses where everything just drops away and there is just love. How many of you had that? Everything just drops away and there is just love left, just an instant. It does not last very long, just an instance. And sometimes that is all it takes. That is all it takes, it just an instance, where you kind of touch eternity for just a moment.

Question:

When you step out on the future time-line and you experience certain experiences what are you actually experiencing?

Gary:

That is a big question.

Time is like a river. And when we are standing in it in that moment and we step out in the future time-line and we experience an experience what I would make up about that is that is what is possible at that moment in time to be in the future. However your choices from that moment on can affect what you experienced out there on the future time-line. So, at that moment collectively of all the things that you are in that moment when you step out into your future time-line, what you access is what is possible from the context of that moment. But the choices you make from that point forward can either turn you to left or to the right or keep you focused on your outcome.

Question:

If you stepped out into the future-time-line five minutes later, it could be different?

Gary:

It could be somewhat different. This is a really big question, and I will say, I don’t have the answers to this one. But I will take a step at it: The whole idea of pre-destination and the whole idea of karma, because they say in India, that when a soul enters the body it passes through the sea of forgetfulness and for a moment it sees all the things that it will experience in time. I think we have conditioned free will. I think we also have the ability to affect the future. I do believe that there are things that are indelibly imprinted upon our life-experience that will come to pass. And how we float through those experiences is whether we bring away a scar or we bring away a blessing. And that is where the free will and the internal resources come into play. And that is where I believe we can change the course of our destiny is how we respond to the pre-determined circumstances of our live. Does that make any sense? Because, I know, if I was born into a nomadic tribe in Africa I have the same neurological possibilities as a wealthy Jewish child born in New York City. I have the same neurological possibilities but my karmic path is different. How my neurology is imprinted by the values and the beliefs of my environment and my ancestry deeply affect the choices I am going to make and how those choices will be governed by the values of my collective culture around me. And that has been pre-determined. They say in India that every hair on your head is counted. Every breath is counted. Now, we come into the world as a modeling-machine imprinting the collective atrophied aspects of our mothers and our fathers. And there are things that are completely healed about their personalities and there are things that are completely atrophied. And we model it subconsciously and that imprints us to be able to either flow through life right and direct in their footsteps or change the way that we were programmed by our own will and our own choices based out of a deeper soul-learning. If we follow the footsteps of our parents, I think that we follow a very specific course of experiences. If we choose to change that course we step out of that stream somewhat and we start making choices out of our own will to approach life-circumstances differently and from that we get a different response from the world and our identity starts to become different.

So, I think it is pre-determined, I think we have free will.

Change

Change

I’d like to introduce you to a process that was introduced to me through an e-mail I received from one of my students and thought it was great as we set forward upon the journey into another year.  Here it is:

At the end of each year develop a ceremony we will entitle “closing the year”.

Look back at what you’ve accomplished and learned, and get mentally ready for a great new year ahead.

I suggest you spend some quiet time doing each of the following steps:

Step 1 Find a quiet place where you will not be interrupted.  Turn off your phones etc. Turn on some great “mind music”.  Grab a pen and some paper.  Write these things down.  Research has proven over and over that writing is so much more effective than typing this stuff into a computer.

Step 2 Take a look back at all the things you’ve accomplished and the great experiences you had this year.  Spend a few minutes making a list of everything you’ve managed to achieve. Write them all down … the big ones and the little ones.

Call this your 2006 “Victory List.”

You might be surprised at just how much you’ve accomplished in just twelve months.    Be kind to yourself.  Resist the urge to think of this exercise as selfish … it isn’t.  It is powerful.

Step 3 Rid your life of tolerations.  Take a serious look at the things you no longer want in your life; make a list of all the things you’d like to leave behind.

We all have things that get in our way.  We have things in our lives that are long past their ‘use by’ date. I call them “tolerations”. What have you tolerated (and continue to tolerate) that drain you of energy?

Are you willing to get those things out of your life for good … right now?

They include physical objects, poor habits, limiting beliefs, thought patterns that hurt us and others, and yes, even people we no longer choose to spend time with.

Step 4 Think about your dreams for the future. What do you really desire to bring into your life? What experiences would you like to enjoy? What new skills would you like to learn? What would you like to do? How would you like to be?

Make notes, draw a picture or speak into a tape recorder to help you remember your dreams.

Here’s where you might want to spend more than five or ten minutes.  Take as much time as you like dreaming about the future you desire.  See it in your mind.  Make vivid pictures of the way you want it to be.

If you don’t know what you desire, ask yourself the ‘miracle question’:

“If a miracle occurred during the night, and when you woke up tomorrow … everything in your life was exactly the way you’d like it to be, how would you know there’d been a miracle?”

What would you see, feel and hear that would let you know a miracle had taken place?

What are the things, experiences, qualities, and ways of being you’d like to experience more of in the future. Make a list of these.

These can be quite general: Spend more time with your family? Get fitter? Earn more? Learn more? Spend more time in the present moment?

List the things you’d like to attract into your life.

Step #5   Make a list of your goals for the year ahead. What would you like to accomplish? What would you like to learn? What would you like to get? Who would you like to meet? In what ways would you like to grow? What are you committed to this year that you did not do last year?

What really is the power of setting goals?  Think about this very simply idea:

you have a much better chance of hitting a target when you know what it is.

Human neurology is goal-seeking – so access your incredibly powerful unconscious mind – and make a list of what you’d like to achieve in 2006.

Step #6  Read through your list of last years accomplishments. Congratulate yourself for everything you did right. Put this list (#2) on your left.

Read through the list of things you’d like to leave behind. Forgive yourself for any mistakes you feel you’ve made, and put this list (#3) on your left also.

Take the materials relating to your dreams (#4), and place them in front of you.

Review the list of things you’d like to attract into your life, and put this list (#5) on your right.

Read through your goals for the year ahead, then put this list (#5) on your right also (if you are left handed, lists 1 & 2 on your right and 4 & 5 on your left).

Imagine all the good feelings, thoughts and energies from your accomplishments coming into your body (you can visualize them coming into your body in any way you choose).

Step #7 Change something-anything. We all get stuck from time to time.  We require to learn to welcome.  We can so easily get stuck in a routine that makes our lives dull and boring.  Getting stuck is normal, staying stuck is a complete option!

What should you change?

It really doesn’t matter.  It can be a lamp shade, a bedspread, a piece of art, your route to work, your hairstyle, re-arrange your furniture, clean up your office, throw out all the junk … just change anything and change as much as you can manage.

Step #8  Who can you forgive today?  Forgive someone who may have hurt you.  Even if they are dead wrong.  Wipe the slate clean.  The biggest mistake we can make is to go into a new year with old baggage.

Reconcile all damaged relationships as fast as you can.  It isn’t easy … but it could be the most important thing you do all year.

Step #9  Forgive yourself.  So you weren’t perfect in ‘08 … take solace in the fact that no one else was either.  Forgive yourself and try not to make the same mistakes again.  You are a human being becoming … and you are special.

Step #10  Commit to a life of gratitude which is a wide open road to true and lasting happiness.  Spend more time being grateful and less time being critical.

Make a list of 20 things you are most grateful for.  If you get on a roll, just keep writing. Fill up a legal pad and write more. This is a powerful exercise and a great way to start a new year.

The New Year

Look Within

Look Within

We are all embarking into a dynamic and historical new year with one remaining question in my mind: What we will make of it?

Will we embrace the future ahead of us with open arms and know that flexibility, innovation and gratitude are the pillars of our ability to dance with change.  Or will we dive into our fear and run dark images of catastrophes ahead of us.

Our heaven or our hell all comes down to choice.  The images we run in our minds, the language we are utilizing producing emotional states and driving our behavior.

My personal approach to this New Year is that this will be the best year of my life for relationships, business and living environment.  Whenever we are faced with the unknown we require taking massive action in the direction of what we desire to achieve and believe down to our depths that it is possible.

Here’s a great quote from the renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright:

“The thing always happens that you really believe in and the belief in a thing makes it happen.”

This is a extraordinary time in history when the structures of unsustainable consumerism is re-evaluating itself and as a consequence each of us requires to look at what is really important to us individually.

I can only share with you what has surfaced for me and my choice for this New Year ahead of me.   I know that possibilities remain endless and what I will make of this year ahead of me is up to me.  The critical factor for 2009 is my attitude.  My ability to focus, stay spiritually centered and curious about the power of relationship and the conversation.

Life has speeded up and changes are occurring more rapidly than ever before.  This translated means my thoughts are manifesting faster than ever before.  Which means I can make things happen?

Where have we been loosing our energy to create the life we desire to create?  Worry will exhaust you, and fear depresses you.  Have you taken a stand for what is really important to you?

Stay curious about the possibilities in your life and forge stronger relationships filled with authentic, powerful and nurturing conversations. The time of the lone wolf is over.

This life we lead is a collection of snapshots in time of our consciousness.  What we chose to feel, think and be in our environments and relationships.  Now is the only moment of power any of us will ever have to become the person we deeply know in our souls to be.  Be the love you are today, in your next conversation, meeting the next stranger or sitting quietly alone. Kindness requires be extending and giving freely.

When all things are taken away from us, our youth, beauty, wealth or even health we have the collection of the snap shots of our life and the emotional intentions of our hearts to know who we are.

This life is a profound journey of discovering what we chose to value and be attached to here.  We have tasted many experiences and stayed attached to our things and ideas about who we thought we were.  Buddha said: “You go where your attachments are” The Master I had the good fortune to study with India would say: “The last image in the screen of your mind is what you have been most attached to in this life and will determine your next birth.” We can go for wealth.  We can go for God.  We can live for our families or our attempt to sustain our youthfulness but whatever we are most attached to through our life will be the guiding force for our future.

Watch the focus of your mind and let your thoughts originate from a well of gratitude for the blessing of your life, be considerate of others, mindful of your actions and know it is time to wake up from your dream of what the culture has indoctrinated into us.  You have this one opportunity to be you.

Be like a lotus who blossoms with its face pointing toward the light and its roots deeply anchored in the mud below the river of your life.

We are magical beings who often times forget the power we wield and the sleeping wizard that lay’s within each one of us.  We are anything but helpless victims of a world gone mad.  We can chose to be awake observers of the changes destined to occur and focused upon the future like a child awaiting Christmas morning filled with opportunity and wonder.

It is a choice.

My invitation is to us all:  Do whatever it takes to stay in the company of people who uplift you and avoid negative, toxic relationships, start a gratitude journal and list at least five things you are grateful for daily. Meditate and at the same time take massive action to create the life and contribution you desire to create.

Stop wasting time.  Every thought and action is determining the overall snapshot of your life.   It is the moment where you can determine what you will focus upon therefore what you are attached too.

The culmination of your life is the culmination of what you dwelt upon most.  See, think and speak possibility.  Stay focused on where you desire to go and if you find yourself off course, utilize it as feedback not failure and re-set yourself back on track once more.

These are the times that bring forward all the learning we have integrated through our life experience.  Let’s demonstrate our wisdom in small and large ways through choosing joy rather than fear, possibility rather than hopelessness, creativity and innovation rather than stagnation and expansion and exploration rather than contraction.

The beginning of 2009 is the year to demonstrate who you have become so your future self is alive and well today in the brilliant New Year filled with possibilities and choice.   You are the one you have been waiting for.  Happiness is not in your future it is in your NOW.

Every Cell of your Body Hears Every Word You Speak

Language is Powerful Choose Wisely

Language is Powerful Choose Wisely

Every cell of your body hears every word you speak.  The same brain cells are connected to every single cell of the body which presupposes whatever you are thinking every single cell of your body is hearing.  How many of you have gotten in touch with your death wish?  We had a young boy at the last Life Purpose training.  He was fourteen.  And it was one of the most powerful moments of my life.  Jesse had just been diagnosed with cancer.  He had a lump on his chest and his parents were there.  Jesse got up on these two chairs, actually.  I was sitting in one, he was sitting in the other, and we began the process that I use with each person I have in the Life Purpose training.  I began to ask him questions and go deeper into his language structure until we finally got to what his death wish was.  And when he finally got to it all he could do was sit in that chair and scream, ‘I want to die, I want to die, I want to die.’  And his choice was because he never felt loved.  It was profound what happened out of that.  What occurred in the process he was led through was he had a huge shift.  The whole room had a huge shift.  I’m still kind of emotional just thinking about it.  It was just a really peak experience for me.  His mother called me up two weeks later and said they had just been to the doctor and the tumor disappeared – because he chose to live.  His statement, which every cell of his body heard and every fiber of his emotional self heard, was, ‘I’m choosing to live.’  He did.  So your language, your emotions, create miracles within you.

Let’s progress.  Isn’t it a nice day?  It’s a nice day.  Won’t you do it for me.  Would you play the piano for me.  Can’t we ever talk.  Can we make time to talk.  Wouldn’t you like to go.  Would you like to go.  Don’t you like broccoli.  Do you like broccoli.  Didn’t we get the loan.  Did we get the loan.  Shouldn’t you stop that.  Would you stop hitting your little brother.  I love you, but…  I love you, and….  Has anyone ever said that to you – I love you, but…  Boy, you know you’re going to get their 411 on all the things they perceive as less than perfect about you.  Doesn’t it bother you.  Does it bother you.  Your subconscious mind takes your language literally and personally.

Language of disempowerment.  Our subconscious mind takes our language literally.  Because we have been speaking informs that we hear around us daily we are often unaware of what we are actually programming into our subconscious.  Our goal is to use language that is outcome oriented first person accountable moving in the direction of our heart’s desire.  When we use the language of disempowerment we keep our thoughts and emotions in a place of stagnation, non-action, non-productivity.  I will explain.

Once you learn this information you will be speaking less.  I will almost guarantee that most of our collective dialog has been about our story, has been a very detailed description of what we’re moving away from rather than moving toward.  How many of you have known that to be true?  And this takes place not only in our external speech but in our internal dialog.  I will continue to use the metaphor that what you are contemplating, because your language is a symbol of your thinking, if you are speaking it, it means you are dwelling upon it.  If you are habitually speaking it, it means you are habitually dwelling upon it.  The temple at which you are praying is the god that will answer you.

I did a lot of study in India and the master would say to us in the evening, ‘Now, all the treasures of the three known worlds, the astral, the causal and the physical, can purchase even one human breath, that so precious is this breath of ours because only in this form, the physical body, can we make the greatest level of spiritual progress.  Only in this form.  The physical realm is huge beyond imagination.  The astral realm is supposed to be a thousand times more beautiful than the causal realm.  And the causal is supposedly just that much more beautiful than the astral realm.  The masters would say if a master takes a soul up to the astral realm and the soul is able to see what’s actually there, the soul would never leave.  It would just stay there in the lower astral regions because it is so beautiful.  We’re all our ideal weight at the astral realm.  We all just look stunning.  He would say they would never leave because the astral heavens are so beautiful.  And yet this form of ours is so precious.

You know the 7 chakras?  The 7 energy centers of the body?  They are literally the energetic vibration in microcosm of the 7 levels of creation.  This is why they say man and woman are made in the image and likeness of god.  We are the microcosm, energetically, of the entire creation.  We are the model of it.  Only in this form can we make the greatest level of progression in consciousness because we have free will.  Only in this form.  He would say the god for mom, the god that half the world worships, pines for the moment he can take a physical form.  So we’re praying to gods and the gods are saying, ‘hurry up and die so we can be you.’  We’re praying to the angelic realms.  Oh, angels, please come help me and the angels are going, ‘hurry up and get me so I can become human.’  The entire creation is contained within the energetic system of our bodies.

The masters would say, ‘In the realm and the great wheel of incarnations available to us, which is 188,000 different species, millions of different forms that a soul can incarnate to, the human form is the top of the ladder.’  Each one of us is coming to fulfil a very specific destiny.  One that only you can fulfil.  Just you.  No one else on the planet can do what you have come here to do.  If you stay trapped in the emotions of the story you have made up your destiny will go unfulfilled and there is nothing more tragic than knowing that you are leaving your body and you’ve yet to do what you’ve come here to do.  I’ve worked years with people with AIDS.  I’ve seen more people die than I care to remember.  And the difference between magnificently glorious death and a horrific one is the fulfillment that person has felt about what they accomplish in their life.

So when we step out into our lives and go, ‘I’m the one.’  By this thought I manifest my world, my heaven or my hell.  I know it, I claim it, I do it.  When you take that kind of stand for your life and your ancestry, you activate and actualize the purpose of why you came.  The master says, ‘When a soul reaches enlightenment, it heals 25 generations back.’  You’re choosing to influence your family.  Get on to the very fact in this moment to create a healing rather than a condemnation.  The next opportunity you have to be with a difficult person, leap at it with an open heart so you can demonstrate to yourself something different.  And do it with love and kindness, with the power of thought, I stand in my light for your victory.  Do you more activate yourself?  Do you more step into the purpose of why you came and therefore fulfil the purpose of why your body is?  You do.

See, I have this vision of dancing out of my body.  When I go into the light, there’s going to be this huge party on the other side that says, ‘You finally did it!  You finally came here and did what you were supposed to do.’  All the other countless lifetimes were kind of ….  But this one you finally did it.  What my highest choice is that everyone, because you all have unique visions and unique things to do, that when it’s your time you dance out of your body and there’s a big party on the other side for you because you did what you came here to do.  And that’s what this information is about.

I had this thought once I was with someone who was passing away and it was, in my perception, pretty horrific and then about the last five minutes it was so peaceful and I thought Wow – what do I know what vision that person had or what conclusion they came to about their life.  How do I know that?
