Investing in your Organizational Soul (part two)

Look Within
In order for organizations to begin building the foundation for cultural transformation they must provide all members of the organization with foundational life skills to transform their thinking, relationships, and communication so that they can create a metamorphosis from dysfunctional attitude to self leadership and power.
If an organization continues to provide only the upper level personnel with leadership and management training, without providing life skills training to all strata of the company, the cultural change will be ineffective. The profit centers for many companies are not in the upper level boardrooms but in the front lines where the employee meets the customer.
I’m not just speaking about foundational sales training but comprehensive life skills training, so that all staff members stay resourced, not only with the customer, but also with each other. If we think that the customer does not feel the culture when they do business with us we are very mistaken. The relationship between employee to employee and employee to management is felt immediately when the customer walks through the door. They feel the break in relationship and notice the “vibe” of the business. People do not make decisions based only on price but also on how they feel.
Every member of your team establishes and contributes to the culture. Invest and empower your human equity and you will have a profit center that ultimately produces far beyond the organization that operates out of an ancient cultural model of power from the top down and profit being an end to itself.
The investment in the human equity leaves a legacy of good well beyond your current years by empowering the people who have invested their time and energy with you and by providing a product or service ringing with integrity and honor.
It is such a simple thing to care for people in equal measure to your success. The interesting result is that when you do, you create more profit in the long-term and the humanity in which you conduct your business is how you will be known and the legacy you will leave.
